HONORABLE YEHUDAH GLICK

President

Yehudah made aliyah from New York with his family at 8 years old, and settled in Beer Sheva. He did his service in the Israeli army in a tank unit, and went on to serve in the Intelligence Corp as a combat medic.

Yehudah holds a bachelor’s degree in teaching Bible/ Mishna/ Talmudic studies, a master’s degree in Israeli History, and is a certified tour-guide. He studied at the yeshivas of Tels Stone, Makor Hayim, Har Etzion and Otniel.

His public activities began when he served as the Spokesperson for the Immigrant Absorption Ministry, under Minister Yuli Edelstein. He managed the public relations department, the Jewish Identity unit and served as the Ministry’s overall supervisor of the Ashkelon area.

In 2005 Yehudah resigned, after ten years of civil service, due to the decision to expel the Jews living in Gush Katif and Northern Shomron while demolishing their homes. He was the highest ranking public official to resign his position due to the disengagement plan.

Yehudah served as the CEO of the Temple Institute for five years. He lectured on various topics such as Jerusalem, the Temple Mount and Beit Hamikdash (The Temple). In 2008 he became the chairman of the Temple Mount Heritage Foundation and of Haliba, which engaged in the struggle for equal rights for Jews on the Temple Mount, including the right to ascend the Mount freely and to pray there openly. Due to these efforts, he almost lost his life when a Muslim terrorist attempted to assassinate him.

In June 2016 Yehudah was elected to the 20th Knesset as a representative of the Likud party. During his term he was successful in passing historic legislation outlawing the advertising of smoking products, in order to save lives and bring Israel one step closer to what is accepted in countries around the globe in the war against smoking.

As a Member of Knesset, Yehudah became the senior-most official in Israel dealing with outreach to the Nations and connecting them to Israel, Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. During his term in office he met with and gave lectures to hundreds of visitors from all over the world, every week.

In February 2018 he was given the prestigious “Knights of Quality Government” Award for the way he conducted his work as a Member of Knesset.

In 2019 Yehudah founded the Shalom Jerusalem Foundation, whose goal is to take Zionism to its next level – connecting the Nations to Israel and Jerusalem, being a light unto the Nations, and bringing about the prophetic day on which the Temple Mount will be a house of prayer for all nations.

Yehudah currently lives in Jerusalem, is the proud father of eight children, and a grandfather of a growing amount of grandchildren.
