Yehudah Glick: The Servant, the Hero [Book of Genesis 5]

Yehudah Glick discusses the Book of Genesis chapter 23-25 which starts with Sarah’s death and follows by the meeting between Isaac and Rivkah.

The story focuses on a slave of Abraham, who became the hero of the story in finding a wife for Isaac. This particular part is a lengthy part. It was written so elaborately that we need to ask the question, why did the Torah put so much attention to details about this servant’s “heroic” act in finding Isaac a wife? Why did Abraham send him back to his homeland to find a wife for his son, when God had specifically called him out of his father’s land, away from the place where he was born?

Yehudah Glick explains.
